What is the Men's Retreat?
The Men’s Retreat is an opportunity for the guys to take some time-out from the challenges and pressures of daily life. It is an opportunity to relax and enjoy some good Bible teaching, as well as to enjoy good company and fellowship in the wonderful and tranquil setting of the Adventure Lodge on Lake Karapiro. Our guest speaker is George Booth. George was born and grew up in central Africa. Yet he went to sea in the merchant navy! Shortly before qualifying as a Master Mariner, he became a Christian and, within two years, he and his wife, Carolyn (who became a Christian at the same time), joined Operation Mobilisation.They went to South America to join the OM ship, Doulos. They spent the next eleven years on OM’s ships before being transferred to New Zealand to lead the OM work here.
At the end of last year, after twenty years in this role, George, Carolyn and their daughter, Shirley, have started a tourist company,”Good Clean Fun NZ”. Their three children were each born on a different continent, but all four and a half grandchildren were or will be born in South Auckland.
What is being taught?
The overall theme of the teaching is "Habakkuk - We Are Allowed to Complain"When is it happening?
The retreat starts at 5pm on Friday 13th August and runs until Sunday 15th 2010, until around 2pm.How much does it cost:
Full Residential - $95 (includes all meals, accommodation and sessions)Non Residential - $55 (includes all meals and sessions)
Individual Sessions - Friday night - dinner & intro session $15; Saturday - lunch, dinner & sessions - $25; Sunday - lunch & morning sessions - $15. Please contact registration@capernwray.org.nz directly to make bookings for individual sessions & meals.
