In 1946 Major Ian Thomas purchased Capernwray Hall, a 19th century mansion set in 175 acres of parkland, just south of England's famous Lake District.

Although it was initially a Christian holiday and conference centre, it quickly became a Bible School to meet the demand for good, sound Bible teaching for many new Christians from the holiday conferences.

There are now over 25 different Torchbearers (Capernwray) Centres around the world with thousands of students going through the courses each year.

We are excited to be part of this growing and vibrant ministry that God has chosen to establish.
